The Animated Series' Creator Has Seen Fans' Second Season Predictions — With Some Good News

The highly-awaited second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been widespread.

The first season introduces a large cast of characters residing in Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That could imply fans have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating happens this season.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some really cool backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a few fans make a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on October 29.
