Epstein acquired a smaller island - Little St James - originally in the late 1990s, but subsequently obtained the bigger adjacent island in the year 2016 for approximately $22.5 million.
The released images reveal he had drawn up plans to develop the sprawling island by building residences, an open-air theater, an office beneath the waves and a reservoir.
You can see the drawing is a channel, a waterway in the US Virgin Islands, noted on the south-eastern section.
This development map is marked up in handwritten red notes and contains a key identifying distinct parts of the estate.
In addition to the main plan are what seem to be nine other site drawings and architectural plans, featuring designs for dock shelters.
